Darrell and Ruperta O'Kelly:
Were married in 2000 and have many children, some were born into the family, others married in, and yet others crept into their hearts, one thing is sure, all are unique, special, and much loved. They founded Shalom Shammah Ministries in 2018. They have a rich spiritual heritage they would love to share it with you.
Darrell is a fourth-generation Pastor with a spiritual heritage in the Pentecostal Church. Darrell's great-grand father, Ockert O'Kelly, had an Apostolic ministry and travelled the old Transvaal and old Northern Transvaal areas by horse in the late 1800's to early 1900's, planting churches and training up local ministers to take the reins. Darrell's grandfather, William Ockert O'Kelly, was the secretary general of the Full Gospel Church for many years. Darrell's father, Dalmain Rodney O'Kelly, was a shepherd at heart building, planting and pastoring numerous churches across the length and breadth of South Africa. Three of Dalmain's brothers served in the church as pastors and on the board of the Full Gospel Church of SA as well as travelled through Africa, Zambia, and Malawi to be specific, and there trained up Pastors to serve in God's Kingdom.
Darrell tried to break away from the call of duty in the Church, but God would not release him from his purpose and the works predestined for him to accomplish. In 2015 Darrell answered the call and was anointed to serve as presiding Pastor in Shalom Shammah Ministries.
Ruperta's great-grandfather, Bernandus Smith was a Minister in the Dutch Reformed Church of South Africa and her grandfather Barney Smith was a bicycle traveling, (till he got a car) missionary in the Western Cape in the 1940's to 1980's serving God and people from various communities.
Ruperta achieved a successful career in Operations Management and IT Systems till 2015 and answered the call to ministry in 2012 where she enrolled for a bachelor's in theology and started Pastoring as a junior and then a pastor in the AGS Church of SA. Ruperta is currently completing an honours degree in Pastoral Therapy.
Darrell and Ruperta followed God in obedience, stepped out of the boat and Shalom Shammah Ministries was born. First, they presented conferences and ministered at various churches and events till God's call to plant a church and pastor a congregation was clear and confirmed by three trusted mentors. Shalom Shammah Ministries has been operational since 2018 and it is their dream and vision to fulfil God's purpose and be effective in His Kingdom accomplishing His good works and plan as He purposes while ministering "Wholeness in His Presence."
